glamping

Up until the last couple years, I had not been a huge fan of camping. Although I do not consider myself high-maintenance, I do enjoy a daily shower and sleeping on a mattress. But, then Matt and I took a trip up the coast from his parents' house in Morro Bay and I fell in love with Big Sur.

This little slice of heaven was our first stop on our honeymoon road trip and by far the most beautiful and relaxing place I have ever been. But back to camping. I had always thought of camping as sleeping in a bag on the ground and eating hot dogs cooked on sticks over a fire. However with a little preparation and the right location, it can be a really great time. I highly recommend Big Sur Campgrounds if you find yourself in that area, however there are a ton of great sites with nice hot showers and lovely accommodations. And as for the camp food? Pack yourself an ice chest with some stinky cheese, salami + good beer and grab a baguette and some s'mores supplies. You've got a fun little night ahead of you.

Don't forget the air mattress.
